Strengthening collaboration and advocacy for maternal and reproductive health across the region
The East, Central and Southern Africa College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ECSACOG) is proud to announce the active participation of its Fellows and Members at the prestigious FIGO World Congress 2025, currently taking place in Cape Town, South Africa.
As one of the largest global gatherings of obstetrics and gynecology professionals, the FIGO Congress provides an unparalleled platform for knowledge exchange, clinical innovation, and international collaboration. ECSACOG’s presence at this year’s congress underscores the College’s commitment to advancing maternal and reproductive health outcomes across East, Central, and Southern Africa.
Fellows and Members from across the ECSACOG region are engaging in high-level scientific sessions, panel discussions, and side meetings focused on emergency obstetric care, health system strengthening, policy advocacy, sexual and reproductive health rights, and capacity-building in low-resource settings.
The Congress also offers an opportunity to highlight regional experiences, share research findings, and reinforce the importance of context-driven solutions to maternal health challenges. ECSACOG representatives are contributing to key dialogues on postpartum haemorrhage prevention, task-shifting models, residency training, and gender equity in health leadership.
As ECSACOG continues to grow its impact, participation in global forums like FIGO fosters deeper partnerships, enhances visibility for regional priorities, and strengthens the collective voice for equity, excellence, and access in women’s health.
