Year 1, 2, and 3 residents sit for final exams at accredited training centres across the region
The East, Central and Southern Africa College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ECSACOG) is pleased to announce that end-of-year examinations for residents have officially commenced across the College’s network of member countries.
Trainees in Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3 are sitting for their final assessments at accredited training centres throughout the region. These examinations represent a critical milestone in each trainee’s academic journey, offering the opportunity to demonstrate their clinical knowledge, applied skills, and professional growth attained over the course of the year.
ECSACOG’s rigorous assessment structure is designed to uphold the highest standards in postgraduate OB/GYN training. The exams are carefully aligned with the College’s competency-based curriculum and reflect the diverse clinical environments in which ECSACOG residents are trained.
In addition to evaluating theoretical knowledge, the examinations assess practical competencies, clinical reasoning, and the ability to apply evidence-based practices in real-world settings. These assessments play a key role in ensuring that ECSACOG-trained specialists are fully prepared to deliver safe, high-quality reproductive and maternal healthcare in their communities.
The College extends its best wishes to all trainees undertaking their exams this week. ECSACOG also expresses appreciation to the examiners, training site faculty, and administrative teams working tirelessly to ensure smooth coordination and adherence to examination protocols across all centres.
As ECSACOG continues to expand its footprint and strengthen its training ecosystem, these assessments underscore the College’s commitment to excellence, accountability, and equitable education for the next generation of OB/GYN specialists.
We look forward to celebrating the achievements of our residents and sharing success stories from this exam season in the coming weeks.
Best of luck to all candidates!
