ECSACOG trainees across the seven member countries undertake their first CAT, marking a key milestone in the 2025 academic calendar.
On 29 January 2025, trainees from Year I to Year III enrolled in ECSACOG commenced their first Continuous Assessment Test (CAT) of the year.
The CAT is a critical component of ECSACOG’s competency-based training programme, designed to evaluate knowledge acquisition, clinical reasoning, and readiness for progressive learning. Administered simultaneously across all accredited training sites, the assessment forms part of the College’s structured approach to continuous academic monitoring and support.
The January CAT covers core subjects in obstetrics and gynaecology, aligned with the respective year-level curricula. Results from the assessment will inform both trainees and faculty on areas of strength and those requiring further development, ensuring targeted academic support throughout the training period.
ECSACOG extends its best wishes to all trainees undertaking the assessment and commends them for their dedication and commitment to excellence in women’s health.
The College remains committed to providing rigorous, supportive, and regionally relevant training that prepares specialists to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the communities they serve.
