The 19th Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Uganda (AOGU) and the 6th ECSACOG Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place from November 6th to 8th, 2024, at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala, Uganda. The event was jointly organized by AOGU and ECSACOG, with the support of various stakeholders.
The conference program spanned three days, from November 6th to 8th, 2024, starting at 8:30 AM each day. It featured seven plenary sessions covering key topics presented by various experts and representatives from different organizations.
- Speakers and Presenters: The keynote speakers included the Minister of Health Uganda, Honorable Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, the FIGO President Professor Kihara Anne and the ECSACOG President Professor Annettee Nakimuli and representatives from UNFPA Uganda, AOGU President Professor Barageine Justus.
- Topics Covered: The following are the key topics covered during the conference; The topics included Fetal Medicine and Newborn Care, Perinatal Morbidity and Mortality, Postpartum Hemorrhage, Intrapartum Care, Women’s Health, Innovation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Accelerating Measurable Progress through Leveraging Investments for Postpartum Hemorrhage Impact, Quality of Care in Maternal Health, and Abortion Care.
The ECSACOG Fellows and Members held their Annual General Meeting on November 8th, where reports were presented, highlighting the college achievements of the past year, ongoing challenges, and priorities for the coming year. Elections for office bearers were also conducted during the AGM.
